I am a longtime family friend of the recently departed Joaquin Sanchez aka "Juaco", who unfortunately passed on 5/21/25.

On October 12, 2024, Juaco was hit by a speeding car, which left him severely injured. He was in a coma for several weeks with slow improvement.

He had a pelvic fracture, face lacerations, and a major traumatic brain injury.

After months in the hospital, he was released to his home with his "longtime partner", but his family was not satisfied with the care he was receiving or with the alienation of being blocked from visiting him. There was a long battle for guardianship that was ultimately awarded to Juaco's sister-in-law, who is married to his twin brother, Angel.

Juaco was in a rehabilitation facility with his condition improving slowly. In that time, there was a lawsuit filed due to the accident that was initiated by the above-mentioned "spouse"

He passed on 5/21, and the lawsuit settlement was more than enough to cover funeral costs; however, she is stating there's no money for the funeral. So this man has been laying in the morgue for 3 weeks, and he deserves the dignity of being able to be laid to rest.

Unfortunately, there isn't much that can be done with time running out. The morgue is giving a time limit of 7 more days. Probate court is going to take too long.

The family needs $5000 toward the $11k funeral costs. We can even have payments go straight to the funeral home.
