Lori's fighting cancer like a girl!

In May of 2014, Lori Pearson was diagnosed with cancer. During her radiation and chemotherapy treatments, Lori continued working at her small, but inspiring, restaurant - Savor Cafe - in Charlotte, North Carolina. In addition her husband, Shane, was losing an 18-year battle with diabetes.
In October of 2014, Lori underwent surgery to remove the cancer. Her recovery was expected to be quick, but it was not. Lori suffered several days in the ICU and weeks in the hospital due to a life-threatening chyle leak. She has been out of work since with friends, family and staff running her restaurant in her absence.
The day after Thanksgiving, her husband underwent a fourth amputation surgery.
While caring for Shane post-operation, Lori was simultaneously gearing up for her final round of chemotherapy scheduled for December 29, 2014. She had not been feeling well during that time and asked her chemotherapy be pushed back a few days. On December 30th, Shane passed away unexpectedly.
Lori was forced to reschedule her chemotherapy for a second time to make funeral arrangements for her husband. As one of the strongest and most positive women we know, she has yet to stumble, falter or ask for help on her own behalf in her time of need, therefore we are asking for her.
Folks who have been touched by Lori & Shane throughout their lives have asked how donations can be made to help the family. We have a pasta dinner - Sunday Tomato Sauce by a Little Italian Lady - on Sunday, January 11th from noon-4pm at Savor Cafe. Advanced tickets are recommended for $20/plate available at the restaurant at 1404 West Morehead Street in Charlotte, NC. Proceeds will go directly to Lori.
