Teddy's Cancer Treatment

Yesterday we were faced with unexpected, sudden, terrible news. I took my dog Teddy, 6 years old, to the emergency veterinarian as his face was swollen and he was having difficulty breathing. I was hoping it was an allergic reaction or an upper respiratory infection, however after several lab tests he was diagnosed with a very aggressive and fast spreading cancer, lymphoma. Today we had an oncology appointment to discuss the options for treatment. Without any treatment we are looking at only a couple weeks left, if that. The 1st option of chemotherapy is 6 months, weekly injections which does not include the price of an ultrasound and blood tests every four weeks. The price of this is treatment is $4,500-$5,000 with additional costs for tests. The 2nd option of chemotherapy is $3,000. The 3rd option is $2,000. With these treatments he would have 10-12 months to live, on average. The 4th option is $150 a month with additional testing monthly, however that will only give him 1-3 months more to live and if this doesn't work, he can not try a different form of chemotherapy. This option will also make him extremely sick and very lethargic. Any donations would be extremely helpful. We've already spent over $500 in appointments and tests so far. The amount we are able to raise will go to directly to the treatment option we are able to afford. Teddy is like my child. I have had him for his entire life and he has made me very happy. It's always been just Teddy and I. Such an energetic ball of fluff. Now he can barely go up and down stairs, has difficulty breathing, will not play and refuses to eat.
