Save Apollo

Apollo was an 8 week old playful Yellow Lab puppy who came into our family on Monday, a loving. energetic, curious little guy, ready to live out his life with his loving owner, Jason.  Apollo immediately captured the heart of everyone he encountered, with his delightfully
friendly personality.
On Wednesday morning, he began throwing up and stopped eating or drinking.  His energy level also dropped.   Jason took him in to
see the vet and was told the pup appeared healthy and the upset stomach was likely due to him adjusting to his new home.  Jason took him home and took special care keeping his little charge low key and letting him sleep often in hopes that he would recover soon.  
However, on Thursday night, Apollo began throwing up again and this time more frequently.  He also began to have bloody stools while all energy drained from him.  Jason tried to keep him warm and feeling safe and tried to prevent him from dehydrating by putting water in his mouth with a turkey blaster but Apollo's health continued to decline.  By morning the little yellow ball of fur could blearily raise
his head.   Apollo was at the vet's office first thing Friday morning and tested positive for the dreaded Parvovirus, which attacks the 
intestinal lining and blood cells of infected dogs. There is no known cure for the virus but with 24 hr a day treatment of the
symptoms, the dog can survive.  The cost for hospitalization for Apollo can be as much as $1500 per day. and treatment usually takes
up to a  week.  Apollo needs immediate treatment and his family cannot afford this much money.  
The choice is simple and at the same time horrible, either have Apollo put to sleep, take him home and let him die, or somehow raise
the money to pay for the lifesaving treatment he needs.  This is why we are asking for your help.  Please help give Apollo a chance for
life in a safe, warm, and loving home.  We can’t do it without you.  Please help him live and give if and what you can.
