Bekah's Brain - Back to "normal'

Donation protected
This is such a long and personal story, but I will try and articulate it in the least melodramatic fashion possible.  In late September, 2014,  I was involved in an auto accident. As a result, I lost hearing and was referred to an ENT (Ears/Nose/Throat) Specialist. When the ENT couldn't specify the reason for my hearing loss, he ordered an MRI.  When I returned in December for the results, I was told that the MRI had revealed that a had a tumor (most likely benign, results will come following the removal of the tumor).

Since receiving these results, it's been a whirlwind of medical information and the scheduling of pre-surgery and surgery appointments, all of which are at Tufts, in Boston.

So, let me get to the point...my actual surgery to have this little "problem" removed is rapidly approaching (January 20). Steve is going to accompany me, which will require he take time off from work, which will leave our family to care for the kids. My expected hospital stay is 5 days if all goes well.  I have not been able to assist Steve financially and the minimal recovery time is 6-8 weeks, post surgery.  My hopes in posting this is to reach out to my support system on a large scale, not ask for monetary support, but more for emotional support of my family in my physical absence. The best way my friends/family could help (me) is with premade meals for the kids or child care, while Steve and I are in Boston. I have struggled with the appropriateness of even posting this, since we've tried to deal with this as privately as possible, however, I realize that the burdon is being placed on those around me.

I appreciate all the support we've received so far and continue to receive throughout this journey. I do plan to and will certainly "pay it forward" when I'm back to "normal".

Looking forward to a happy, healthy 2015 ❤️

02.04.15 - Thank you does not begin to summerize how we feel towards each and every one of you and your families for your selfless support during our difficult times. This experience has made us value how good people really are and has given us a goal to pay-it-forward and be healthier, better people and appreciate the good overall! It's important that I thank each of you individually, so please get in touch with your mailing address/contact info so I can do this ❤️ Much love to all of you and I hope that 2015 brings you great things as it has me thus far xo
