Nepal Medical Volunteer Trip

As some of you may or may not know, I have been a practicing phyisician assistant for the last 13 years. I have worked in private practices, boutique practices and in non-profit organizations providing care to those who cannot afford it. Majority of my career has been in Reproductive Health and Reproductive Endocrinology and have spent the larger part making babies for who need assisted reproductive technologies. As of June 2014, I resigned from my position because medicine stopped making sense to me. The hours were well above and beyond healthy normal hours and found it difficult to take care of my basic needs of food, clean clothes, exercise and social life. I have forgotten why I went into medicine. My mission in going to Nepal is to not only provide good care to those who need it but to bring back what I learn to share with my community here in Los Angeles, California.
I am traveling with International Volunteer HQ and partnering with HOPE and HOME to volunteer my medical experience (although, I will be the student there for sure) and help where ever they need.
Mission of HOPE and HOME is to give the Nepalese the necessary tools to help themselves and facitilate a better way of life.
International Volunteer HQ endeavors to increase education and heighten awareness through not only the skills and expertise taken by volunteers to their host communities and institutions, but also through the experiences and lessons volunteers will in turn take back to their own countries and cultures.
Every penny raised will help me to travel to Nepal to help carry out their missions. Any extra money raised will be donated back to HOPE and HOME.

Airfare: $1089.50
Program Registration Fee: $279.00
Program Fee: $557.50
Nepalese Visa: $100.00
Travel Insurance (mandatory): $72.00
Any Donations above expenses will be donated directly to HOPE and HOME
