Mike Jones

This Fund has been set up to assist Mike Jones who was injured very badly in a car accident back in May that almost took his life. One rainy night the pick-up truck he was driving was run off the highway and flipped down into a 50-foot ravine landing upside down in a creek with the roof of his pick-up smashed flat and him pinned in by the steering wheel. Mike was trapped in the truck alone with his jaw broken in three places until he managed to get himself unpinned, crawled out the back window, made it up to the road and walked a mile or so until he was able to find help. In the months since the accident Mike has undergone two surgeries to reconstruct his jaw and is still suffering from severe nerve damage in his face. The Doctors anticipate it could take another 12 to 24 months for him to recover.

Who is Mike Jones?

Mike is a passionate Collector and Member of the Antique and Vintage Toys Community who has been running The Pressed Steel & Tin Toy Collector’s Facebook Group for over eleven years.

I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting Mike but he runs and Admins several Groups on Facebook. I became introduced to Mike when I needed assistance because scammers were using my photos of antique and vintage toys to try to steal from Toy Collectors on multiple Facebook sites. I wasn’t using Facebook but became aware that my photos from Instagram were being taken and used by thieves.

Being new to Facebook and lost in terms of how to stop these thieves I reached out to an Admin from a Toy Group. I was very fortunate because it was Mike Jones. Mike spent hours that day working with me to shut down the Scammers posts, boot them from Groups, and gave me back some peace of mind that my pictures weren’t being used to rip off a Community I care about.

Mike went above and beyond to help me out that night well into the morning hours. Since then, I have witnessed Mike share his immense knowledge of antique and vintage toys with a whole community of Collectors. He has countless times been the one to respond to another Collector looking to learn something about a new toy they just acquired.

Mike would describe himself as someone who always shows up when he says he will show up, does what he says he will do, says what he means, means what he says, goes out of his way to help others no matter what, and believes in protecting those who cannot protect themselves.

I can tell you Mike Jones has displayed all of the above traits in my dealings with him.

What is the Need?

The goal of this Fund is to help Mike with his expenses, so he is able to heal. Mike remains on an expensive liquid diet due to the injury to his jaw and at this time he is in need of the assistance.

Anything you can spare to help alleviate some of the burden associated with being is what we are asking.
