Arlene J Wilcox Donation Fund

Arlene went to York High, graduated in 1976. She also attended Ferrum College and CNU. She has lived in Willaimsburg and Yorktown, VA for many years. Arlene raised her son Adam from age 3 on, as a single mom. She always gave her time to others and sacrificed herself so her son had what was necessary.

Unfortunately on December 31st, at the young age of 57, she had a severe stroke paralyzing the right side of her body and damage to the left side of her brain. This part of the brain controls the speech, language, math, reading, writing and understanding of words.  Those of you who know Arlene, and those who don't, undertand that she has the "gift of gab!!"  She loved to talk about everything, anything and was in her element doing so. She is in Surgical Intensive Care Unit at Riverside currently and will be moved to the neuro wing for a period of time. It doesn't stop when she leaves the hospital. After, she will be moved to a nursing rehab facility, and then a full rehabilitation center. It will be PT, OT, nursing care and everyday living expenses. Arlene will most likely need specific accomadations due to the damage that has been caused.

Arlene would not ask anyone for anything. I am asking anyone out there to donate what you can to help us out with the medical bills to come and the long term help Arlene will need in her future.  No amount is too small, for in numbers, it all adds up.
