Jozie's Heart Surgery

We received very devasting news today.  Our 4 month old goldendoodle, Jozie needs heart surgery.  Our little girls best friend, the pup they begged for, the pup they saved their money for and the pup we prayed to find.  She was diagnosed with a heart murmur early on, which is normal in large breed pups and most grow out of it.  Jozie's murmur became louder! Our vet reffered us to a specialist in Franklin, TN and we visited her today.  Jozie had an echocardiogram today; while myself, my husband and our daughters sat in the waiting room praying for a good report.  About 30 minutes later, we had Jozie back and a consultation with the doctor.  Jozie's heart murmur was identified as a patnet ductus arterious (PDA).  This is a normal structure between the aorta and pulmonary artery that is presnet in utero and is suppose to close. In dogs with PDA, closure does not occur and flow between these blood vessels can occur, which causes a murmur.   Jozie's echo indicated that her heart has had some significant changes, meaning it is likeyly that heart failure will eventually occur if the issue isn't corrected.  Fortunately the issue can be fixed with Jozie having surgery to correct the closure, the doctor said the majority of dogs live a normal life after successful closure.  The unfortunate part is the cost of the surgery alone is $4,000.  We have already used what we had to pay for the consultation and the echo.  We are asking for help to be able to give a longer life to our sweet pup, our 5th family member and our girl's best friend.  We would love added prayers too.  Thank you, God Bless.
