My name is Suzanne Vargas and though I am not related to Ms. Joyce by blood, she is my family.
For those of you who know Ms. Joyce through Li'l Angels (the Center where she has worked for the past 20 years), you are aware she has been out on medical leave for quite some time. Recently, she was diagnosed with Cancer. The cancer Ms. Joyce is fighting is aggressive and has taken a toll on her!
If you don't have the pleasure of knowing Ms. Joyce, I am truly sorry for you. She is the funniest, most thoughtful, loving and LOYAL person you could ever meet. You can walk through a door and within minutes, you'll feel as if you've known her forever. She is bar-none one of the most unique, and unforgettable people I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
I have created this Go-Fund me account in an effort to show Joyce that she is not alone. She has been there for so many of us, and supported us in so many ways. She has helped raise and educate hundreds of children over the past 20+ years. She was a single mother who raised 2 fabulous, successful sons. She is a grandmother to 5 beautiful grandbabies, and she is a friend... to each and every one of us. She's fighting the biggest battle she's ever been dealt and needs our help!!!
Joyce is currently in the hospital getting the care she needs to gain the strength to go home... but that will not be the end of this. Joyce is going to need constant, consistent and strict care in the days, weeks and months that lie ahead. Care that neither her, nor her family were prepared to handle. I hope, that as a community, we can help give back to Joyce and her family ... to show her that she is NOT alone! I realize it's a lot to ask during the holidays when everyone is strapped for cash but i humbly ask you to please, take a moment and help with whatever you can. $1, $5, even $100 ... any and every little bit is so very much appreciated.
