A Genuine Gift of Support Is Needed!

I met up with Joyce Thompson 6 or 7 years ago, during a time of serious questions in my life. Through networking for my business online through social media, Joyce was in my feed and she asked if we could bring the online to an offline meeting here in town (Wichita). That was to be a simple lunch but it turned into a 6 hour sharefest and I received answers to my questions about who I was and where I could find more of the answers I so desperately needed. Our friendship blossomed. It time I was available to help her in HER time of need when her health began to necessitate HUGE changes in her life. I was there then to help raise funds for that major change which mean special medical equipment and a move to Kansas City. I had the chance to get to know Jeff when he and Joyce lived with us for 2 months when they were in-between leaving and finding a place to live in Kansas City.
Today, after many, many bouts of dealing with her own health issues and Jeff's, recently as well, she is at a point of needing lots of help. Jeff died from complications from a cancer surgery. Joyce has health that is worsening and now facing incredible and unsolvable financial problems. Jeff's death was sudden and she is totally unprepared financially to cope.
This GoFundMe is to provide her so support to pay for - Jeff's cremation, and other "burial" needs, to fix a broken down car that has better mileage than the van that might break down at any time, and to pay some bills that are lingering around her. The current medical bills have eaten away all of the 401k that Jeff had, and Joyce's social security is minimal - to where she can't pay for the apartment that she and Jeff shared these last 3-4 years with many happy memories of struggling and supporting each other. They had each other!
Jeff was an Army Veteran with an Honorary discharge. He was very proud of his service in the military and was given the opportunity to serve in Korea, but due to family crisis situation, he was given the discharge to care for his family. It was much later that Jeff came to Joyce in the perfect time of her life. She was or had become a Psycho-Therapist in Marriage & Family and has since been instrumental in bettering the lives of MANY people. Jeff brought Joyce much joy but there were the medical needs that were about to become the center of each other's life together! Jeff promised his love and support throughout her trials, and she to him during his. He was her legs and energy, while she was his eyes (he was going legally blind) and support for his times of MS weakness.
It is sad to see such giving people suffer in this day, in their greatest times of need just because of how our society handles those that have health problems. Joyce is now in need of lots of support during this time for grieving for the loss of her love, and now much of her life support. She is RICH with many friends and from the many that she has helped in her practice.
