Joyce Spencer's New CD 2021

Hi! For those of you who don’t know me my name is Joyce Spencer.  I am a national contemporary recording artist, saxophonist, flutist, singer, songwriter, and composer.

I know it has been a few years since my last CD release and you’re probably wondering why it took so long. I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your love, support, and patience on so many levels.  You have been there for me in so many ways!  It’s not that I was holding back or procrastinating on my next release, it’s just that I had already been through the wringer in terms of logistics and financial challenges and obligations to produce a quality CD.  I endeavored to find the right person or professional team to make it happen. Of course, the pandemic brought another level of challenges, but I still persevered. 

 As some of you know, recording a professional, quality CD, hiring musicians, a producer, mixing, and mastering is a daunting task, especially for an independent artist like me.  We also have the challenging tasks of copyrighting, proper contracts regarding co-writers, and publishing, along with distribution.  In addition, you also have marketing, CD cover graphics, professional photos, music videos, CD replication, and licensing fees (mechanical, streaming, and digital download) for cover songs.   I strongly feel that if I'm going to ask you to support this project, it is incumbent upon me to make certain I release something that YOU can be proud of, too, which includes having a professional team already in place. Now I have that team thanks to Willie Bradley of Halidon Consults and they are suited up and ready to go. I’m so confident of this team that I have already submitted the first original song to the producer.

Q&A
What genre of music are you recording in this project?
With this team, I am creating a smooth jazz project that is “radio ready" for your favorite smooth jazz radio stations both mainstream and independent, which will include cover songs as well.   

How long will the project take?
I have decided to just take it one track at a time with an estimated time period up to 1.5 years, so you can come back at any time within that time frame to contribute and/or contribute again.    

How are you going to release your album?
One track at a time
As soon as the first track is completed, I will release it and keep releasing singles it until I have enough for either an EP or CD.
