Joyce Ferris' Angels

Joyce, age 48, was recently diagnosed with terminal Leiomyosarcoma.  She began her fight with cancer 10 years ago and had it beat for 7 years.  However, the cancer came back 3 years ago and again Joyce bravely fought it.  As of June 2017, it was discovered that it had spread into Joyce's abdomen and lungs.  She opted to have chemo since the cancer was so close to her heart to reduce the risk associated with surgery.  However, the size of the cancerous tumor soon tripled in size, forcing her to undergo 15 days of radiation.  Joyce is a survivor and a fighter!

However, fighting cancer comes with a cost; mental, physical and financial.  The financial toll makes the physical and mental toll that much worse.  Sadly, Joyce recently lost her job of 24 years with the same employer, as her short term disability benefits ran out.

Joyce has a great attitude and doesn't complain about the trails she and her family are going through.  For me, Joyce's struggles are personal.  You see despite her own challenges and not even knowing my spouse, Joyce, her husband Duane, and their friend Julia came to my family's need just one year ago as we struggled with our own medical and financial hardship.  Joyce's unselfish action alleviated a lot of our stress and reassured us through showing us that good people do exist! Now it is time for all of us to show Joyce how much we care.
