I am doing this fund raising because I want to put a smile on children faces on Christmas day, In my native country Liberia.
I am a U.S Marine originally from Liberia .
Liberia one of the poorest country on earth .
I lived through the poverty and suffering for most of my life before migrating to the United States, which I am proudly a citizen of now.
During my childhood and even now, Christmas has always been my favorite holiday. Children struggle to survive everyday life in Liberia but for this 2018 Christmas , I want to make it special for the kids especially those kids in the hospitals in the local city where I grew up in Liberia. I don't know if I can raise enough to even reach out to other children but for now, I will worry about the children in the hospital.
I want to visit them with gifts to help restore their faith in humanity, which will also help enhance their healing and give them hope. Most importantly they will feel the joy of Christmas and the love of Christ that, someone, somewhere do care. I also believe that the year 2019 will be a year of miracle for them and all of us who will contribute. We might be able to pay a few children school fees if we raise enough.
I refuse to allow what I can't do to stop me from doing what I can do. I cannot make this Christmas a success by myself but what I can do is, simply ask for help. I have already bought my air ticket to Liberia .
America has done so much for me and shape my life in ways I can't explain. I am very grateful. One of the many lessons I have learned in America is that, we all can make this world a wonderful place regardless of our short comings.
This world is not the best place but it's still a good place to be, just because people like you and me are here to give others a helping hand.
My late mother always said, live simply so that others may simply live.
