Nicola/Nikki/Miss Nikki is so excited to announce that I have been invited to be part of something life-changing. Not only for myself but for the children of India. But I need your help....
Kimberly Martin, a friend from my NBS Ballet School days has been very active with raising awareness for the amazing charity Magic Bus. They work tirelessly to provide hope to the poorest communities in India. To teach the children that the life they were born into doesn't have to be the life they continue with. These children are exposed to education, the arts, trades and skills that they would not otherwise have the opportunity to be. These experiences help give them the confidence to grow and the education needed to hopefully get jobs, provide for themselves and their families and lead a healthier and more fulfilling life.
So this is where myself and the amazing team Kimberly put together come into it. We are flying over in December to share our love of dance to the slums of Mumbai. We have a week to put on a performance with 50 children. Dance is a language spoken by everyone and we are there to show the children how to be creative, to have fun and bring a community together. Because when you inject new skills, fun and dance into a community it gives them hope. Magic Bus is providing accommodation, translators and any other necessities but we need to raise enough to cover our own flights and to cover medical and insurance costs. Any extra money will be used to help sustain the work of Magic Bus and to help continue our work long after we leave.
I am so excited to be able to share this love of mine where it is really needed. Please help me, help them.
