Joy needs a new "leash" on life!

Today wasn't  just any ol' day for Joy (Catahoula on the left)... It was destined to be her last day on Earth. The shelter she and Jolie (pup on the right) were at was over capacity and sadly, they were on the list to be euthanized today! We rallied together and got them pulled and transported to a vet clinic where they could be evaluated. It wasn't looking good for this sweet "grandma" Catahoula, we fondly named Joy for her crooked smile she gives people. In addition to an infection on her belly, heart worms, and being malnourished, she was limping and had very little muscle on her back right leg - telling us that this injury had been hurting for a long while.  X-rays revealed that her right hip was dislocated, but amazingly nothing else appeared abnormal! This sweet, smiling girl deserves a new "leash" on life, and we are hoping to rally together with the help of our friends and Catahoula family to raise enough funds to get her the much needed surgery. After surgery, once she is stable we will bring her up to Washington where she will need to continue some physical rehabilitation to get her on the road to recovery and into an amazing new forever home.
