Journey To Cuba

This year, an opportunity of a lifetime has come my way. I've been able to document many events over the course of my photography career but never like this one. I have accepted an educational opportunity to document in Cuba w/ a small group of artists taking place December 2014.
Any funding will be incredibly helpful in making this dream happen. For me, not only is this a "bucket list" experience, it's also a passion project allowing me to explore and photograph the largest island in the Caribbean and capture the history, the people and the culture.
As a visual artist I am constantly searching for unique opportunities like this one. To be able to story tell through my portraits makes this journey a perfect learning experience as well as a very special project! Photographing this trip will allow me to create my 1st photo series/exhibition set to debut in Spring 2015 (excited). I want to share my experience through these very special portraits.
The Impact
Your contribution will allow me to successfully fund the rest of my tuition/fees due to make this excursion happen. The project is being paid out of pocket and in order to make it happen I need your support!
In return for your support, you have the opportunity to access portraits from the experience via (1) custom photo postcard ($20 contribution) or (1) framed 8 x 10" portrait ($50 contribution) as a special gift (see reward levels for reference).
In a country of chronic shortages and few retail stores, I also plan to travel prepared with a few items to leave behind.
A portion of the proceeds will be put toward the purchase of the following items: clothing, school supplies, vitamins, and DVDs of cartoons in Spanish to name a few.
*Your donation/support will allow me to bring a larger quantity of items on the trip.
Everything counts and all donations are welcome and appreciated!
