Journey of Discipleship Birthday Fundraiser

Hello, my name is Jazzmine Bankston, and I am a teacher and vice principal of a burgeoning private academy in San Antonio, Texas. My passion is to help students become the best version of themselves and invest in and steward their God-given gifts. I believe that each person has a unique individuality that truly makes up a part of the complete image of God, something that I had to learn the hard way growing up as pastor’s kid. Often times, youth are overlooked, but I firmly believe they are just waiting for people to authentically believe in and invest in them. My goals are to create space for students to authentically belong, awaken to freedom found in their God-given identity, and encourage them to walk this journey of becoming every day. 

Three years ago, I had launched a discipleship and mentorship program for youth at my school called Journey of Discipleship, divided up into four core elements: discipleship, mentorship, leadership, and IGNITE. It was a vision in my mind and heart that I was determined to see through. Since then, the ministry platform has skyrocketed. 

Here are the 3-year accomplishments broken down. The 3rd year is a current process:

Year 1: JOD elements, individualized mentorship and discipleship, community outreach, monthly vespers that are student-led

Year 2: chapel leads, launch of social media platforms, mentorship and discipleship groups

Year 3: Podcasts, videography and video-editing, crew workshops (film, drama, script, videography, audio/visual, and photography), music band, IGTV devotionals, and a studio carved out in the back of my classroom

Essentially, there is a space for creative ministry via various avenues, but there is a lack of resources. This year, I have given a lot of financial monies and personal equipment in support of our youth. There is equipment that I am still needing to be more efficient in this digital realm of creative ministry. 

This year, I am holding a birthday fundraiser that goes directly into my ministry for the youth. If you feel the heart to donate, even just $5, it would mean the world to me.
