Thanks for tuning in, and I’ll try to keep this short and sweet. My Mom, JoAnne Lemboeck, has Stage 4 cancer that has metastasized and is rapidly spreading through her body. Her primary care doctor considers it to be terminal at this point. She is in a care facility for the next few days, but Medicare won’t pay for anything beyond Tuesday March 13th. She will qualify for hospice, but no one will cover the home care she needs. My Stepdad John and I both work full-time, and we need someone to take care of her at home while we work. The only way we can do that is to pay $25 per hour for that, and we can’t afford it. To keep her in the current facility is $300 per day, well beyond our means, and certainly beyond an amount that I’m comfortable asking for assistance with.

I have no idea how much longer she’ll be with us, but I’m very stressed out over the idea that money(or lack thereof) is the deciding factor in the quality of care she gets in her final days. The system is failing us in our time of need, and that’s why I’m here asking for your help. I’m not asking for big contributions, because I know that a lot of small ones add up. Anything is appreciated. From our family to yours, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. I will keep you posted on the progress of this fundraising effort, and how the funds will be allocated(at this moment, primarily on home care and related medical bills).
