Josiah's Future

JOSIAH'S FUTURE

Children need to be kids for as long as possible - adulthood comes way too fast anyway.

Josiah is an 8 year old with a smile that is contagious, he loves to play and explore. After Josiah’s father (Bill Sisson) passed away in March 2019, Josiah currently lives in a complicated situation with other family members in Tennessee.

John and I have petitioned for custody of our nephew Josiah - with our court date mid July we are not allowed to share much at this time, but will keep everyone updated.

Our hope is for Josiah to be raised with both families involved working together in his best interest - that all will stay positive and communication open.

Our hopes are for Josiah is to learn to swim, go fishing, read lots of books, go on field trips, try many new things like sports, art, music, cooking or even acting - learning what he likes and dislikes is a huge part of growing up and discovering who he is. Help him to socialize; make new friends inviting them all to sleep-overs staying up all night building legos, racing hot wheels and raiding the refrigerator for snack.

Our hopes for Josiah, as he gets older, is for him to enjoy prom, then graduate high school and have the option of college or trade school. To make his own plans for his future. Learn to drive, find employment, purchase his first car - make lots of teenager mistakes and learning ways to correct them, making wise choices, taking chances, handling emotions - all before becoming an adult when the consequences are so high for poor choices.

Our hope is when Josiah is an adult, he will thank all of us for helping him to become the best person possible. He will learn to be respectful, thankful, kind, generous and learn to love unconditional. That we can all be grateful for the sacrifices and love given to make his dreams come true.

Share in making these hopes a reality for Josiah’s future.

Thank you in advance for your prayers and support of Josiah’s legal fees $3,500 to start this journey. None of us can predict the future, however, changes need to be made and providing a more positive stable/safe environment can ensure a better chance. We don’t have all the answers and there will be plenty of ups and downs to work through and it is all of our responsibilities to give Josiah the best chance for success - working together for Josiah’s future.
