Josh West GIST Cancer

Donation protected
December 25, 2011 Josh was taken to the hospital with severe pains. He was diagnosed with GIST, which stands for Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor.  It is a very rare cancer affecting Josh's stomach and both sides of his pelvis.  His doctor placed him on a chemo pill, which he has taken daily for almost 3 years.
During this time, Josh has had numerous blood transfusions, iron transfusions and CT scans to track the tumors.  Josh endures daily pain, sickness, fatigue, and loss of appetite.  Upon recent CT scans, his tumors are no longer affected by the chemo.  They have increased tremendously and at this point ulcerated.
The doctors have changed his chemo pill and waiting to see if it has any affect on the tumors.  It has spread to his liver.  Due to the largest tumor in his stomach, he is unable to eat and has lost a  great deal of weight.  He had a TPN (port) placed today, December 12, 2014 to help him get the nutrients he needs.
We have put this site up to get Josh some help with his daily needs and medical expenses.  He has many trips a week to the hospital and doctor appointments.
As his family, our hearts are heavy and we only ask this from our hearts for Josh.
If you feel lead to donate, please accept our deepest thank you.  If you cannot please keep Josh and us in your prayers. Thank YOU!!
