UPDATE(s):
see below
Joshua Chaumont, 40,
suffered a severe stroke on Thursday, December 21st, 2017 in his Taos, New Mexico residence.  He was air-lifted to University of New Mexico hospital in Alburquerque, NM (2.5 hours from Taos).  Joshua has since undergone emergency surgery successfully removing blockage of his carotid artery and placement of a stent.  He has also undergone two MRIs and a Cat Scan finding evidence of hemorrhaging on the brain.   His vision on his right side is severely limited and has difficultly speaking at this time; however, he has regained movement in his right extremities. He is currently undergoing speech and physical therapy.   Now for a bit of positive news. Joshua was able to get up and walk with a walker on Friday evening.  Some Christmas music was being played for him and he began sing along.  Joshua has a wife, Sherry, and two children - Phoenix 2 years, Phoebe 6 months.  Joshua is the family's sole provider and the financial hardships this will cause is going to be substantial.  His family is requesting contributions to lessen the burden of the financial hardships.  We are also asking friends to continue praying for Joshua and his family in this time need.   Thank you all and God Bless.
UPDATE 12/25/2017, CHAUMONT FAMILY wants to THANK each and every one for the many PRAYERS and donations.  We couldn't do it without all of you.  THANKS to all your generousity and kindness, the initial GOAL has been met in 2 amazing days!!  GOD is good and He has His Hand on Joshua and his family.  The nurses believe he will make a full recovery but these next few days and weeks are so crucial to his healing as his brain is learning to rewire around the damaged areas.  To help ensure the family's financial burden is limited we are extending the initial goal.  Now for more positive news: Joshua's condition has been improving.  Yesterday he was able to walk 7 laps,  On 6th lap, he was lifting walker some, therapist was ready to stop afterwards. But Josh is so determined, he didn't stop and made a 7th lap unassisted.  His speech is improving but, still a very long way to go.   He did say, "I LOVE YOU" to everyone he has spoke to.  Some of his biggest smiles are when music is played.  He began to tap his left foot along with the music.  Please continue to pray for Josh and his family, none of these improvements are possible without the Lords hand.  Thank you all for caring and God Bless.  Merry Christmas from the Chaumonts.
UPDATE 12/28/2017 the CHAUMONT FAMILY  thanks everyone who has contributed to JOSHUA & his FAMILY.  The prayers and donations all of you have provided are OVERWHELMINGLY KIND and THOUGHTFUL, we THANK YOU ALL from the bottom of our hearts and soul.  Joshua and his family are so BLESSED to have you all as friends and family. Now for an update on Joshua's condition, he has been released from University of New Mexico hospital in Alburquerque.  He is currently in route to southwest Louisiana to continue speech and coordination therapy/rehab.    His condition continues to improve a little everyday.   His mobility is greatly improved; however, right arm/hand use is limited .  Josh continues to struggle with his verbal communication.  Josh does still have a sense of humor, Dad requested Josh to hand him a diaper with his right hand, he immediately grabbed diaper with left hand placed it into right hand and gave to Dad and smiled.   Please continue to pray for Josh and his family, none of these improvements are possible without your prayers.  Thank you for caring and God Bless you ALL.
UPDATE 1/2/2018, Again, THANK YOU ALL for the generosity you've shown to my brother, Joshua, and his family.  Your donations have eased the family's immediate financial uncertainity associated with Joshua's condition and lack of income.  Several Special THANK YOU's go out to our DAD Randy who has been relentlessly working with Joshua, our Stepmom Cindy Chaumont for ensuring the Holiday's were pleasant for everyone and hosting all family and friends who have visited Joshua.  And last but certainly not least, our Mother Colleen, for unselfishly assisting Sherry with the kids and housing during Joshua's absence.  Many of Josh's immediate/extended family and myself have visited with him the past couple days.  According to Dad, this has really helped him.  Josh continues to show improvement.  His mobility is getting better.  His lingustic function is also improving.  Joshua and his family have a difficult time ahead. Please continue to pray for Joshua and his family.  Thank you all and God Bless.
