We are heartbroken to share the unexpected passing of Josh Meier, beloved father, husband, brother and friend.
Josh loved life with a kind of enthusiasm and verve that is seldom seen. He was determined to be his best self, whatever he did. He was known to say, “If it’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right.”, a quote he picked up from his own father. In keeping with that motto, he was the very best father and husband that he could be, always putting the needs and desires of his family before his own.
Josh and Lauren recently purchased their very first house. Josh wanted his kids to grow up in a family neighborhood; where it was safe to play outside until dusk with other kids, that would grow into lifelong friends. They sacrificed and saved to achieve this dream, finally moving in two weeks ago.
Being young and recently starting a new career, after years of working alongside his father and siblings in a family business, Josh did not have life insurance or investments to provide for Lauren and his two young children; Liam (5) and Everly (2). They emptied their savings to buy their new home.
It was Josh’s number one priority to see Lauren and the kids provided for, but no one could have foreseen him dying in his sleep at 29 years old. Josh was the primary income earner in their home. Lauren has recently started a full-time job, but it will not replace the income earned by Josh. They need help to get their feet under them during this most difficult time and to stay in the home that Josh wanted them to grow up in. In lieu of flowers or gifts, please consider making a donation to his family. This is truly what Josh would have wanted, they were and are everything to him.
