<div>About Josh, oh my gosh, where to start? Bright is an understatement. Funny, quick-witted. Caring about others, generous to a fault. Josh is a son, brother, uncle, husband, nephew, cousin, confidant, and true friend to so many of us. He is a professor at the University of Oregon and received his PHD at the University of Washington. He is 37 years old. To know Josh Beck is to know a true friend. He has the ability to make friends with a stranger and is likely to be the best friend the guy ever made. He is genuinely authentic, warm, and wildly intelligent. Josh makes this world a better place. He has an infectious smile and you can always hear the positive, upbeat tone in his voice that actually makes you smile. He truly wants and sees the best in and for others and their success.

<div>Hi, my name is Kimberli (Beck) Grogan. I am Josh Beck's mom. We are not very good at asking others to help, especially financially, but the air transport and medical road to recovery have been and are going to be exorbitant, far beyond what insurance will cover.

<div>On December 1, 2022, after a FaceTime call, helping his niece with her homework and chatting with his sister, Morgan, about life, dreams, and Christmas (Josh's favorite holiday), Josh and Aaron ate dinner. After a few spicy bites of chicken Josh aspirated and began choking, Aaron went into action; tried to dislodge the food and called 911. Josh went unconscious and Aaron began CPR. The EMS got to the house within minutes and continued CPR. They got the food dislodged. Josh's heart stopped twice. His body and incredible medical team brought him back. He was transported to the Medical Center in Springfield, OR where he is making small progress every day. Josh is still in a coma with a list of meds on board but he is slowly showing signs that he's waking up and his responses are getting stronger. He is healthy and young which are both on his side for recovery.

<div>Josh and the rest of the family are not good at asking for help. We're usually the ones that jump in to help others.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>But, we need your help now. We found an incredible facility for Josh in San Diego. We want to get him to the place that gives him the best chance at a full recovery. We want treatment options for him. We want to try it all. He deserves this.
</div>

</div>
<div>Josh was flown to San Diego on December 22, 2022. Josh's specialized care will be at the family's expense as well as all of his transportation. We are told this could run into the hundreds of thousands. We can handle some of this on our own, but not at the levels they are talking about, therefore we are respectfully requesting any help you can give.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Please consider helping Josh. He needs us all now. He needs us to believe in his recovery and he needs every chance at his best life.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>We're asking today that you donate to the best cause for this Season. For a great guy that deserves it. Joshua Beck.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div><em>On behalf of Josh and all of us, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!</em>
