Jenna and I are grateful to have our family and friends partner with us in our journey of adoption. Thank you for visiting our page and for supporting our dream of growing our family. We are excited to adopt a child and one day we will tell them about all of the people who were part of our support team when they entered our family! We are working with a faith-based agency that we love to adopt an infant domestically. If you feel led to support us financially we want to thank you so, so much. Below, we've each briefly shared a view of how we got to this point in our adoption journey.
Josh -- I remember first talking with Jenna about adopting while we were still dating. At that time, we imagined we would have both biological and adopted children... and maybe we will one day! However, we lived with infertility for several years and learned from our doctors that our chances to conceive naturally are low. We have felt disappointed, but I love Jenna even more today for what we've been through together and for our shared commitment to start a family. Our desire to adopt became more clear as we prayed and talked with trusted advisors. I specifically remember one moment, walking out of a meeting with a specialist in Tulsa, when my heart and mind finally settled: God loves families (they were his idea!), we want to love a child, its time to take the next step and adopt.
Jenna -- The further along in this adoption journey we've gone, the more peace and excitement I have experienced! God is answering our prayer for a child through adoption. I feel like God has prepared Josh and I to be parents in different ways, but specifically prepared each of us to become parents through adoption. Though our walk through infertility has been hard, it has given us opportunity to grow closer to each other, to love one another better and to lean more on God. For me, the Lord slowly confirmed his desire for us to adopt over the years and months of working with doctors trying to conceive - adopting was always in the back of my mind. After our last meeting with a doctor, I also had a sudden excitement and desire to begin pursuing adoption. I felt like God suddenly made it undeniable that this was the next direction he wanted us to go. That day he affirmed in my heart the growing inkling that we should adopt. It was a special conversation with Josh over lunch that day about how God was making the adoption decision clear for both us.
We also ask for your continued prayers as we get closer to meeting and bringing home our little one. We can't express how much it means to have friends and family who love us and want to help bring our baby home!
