Our Story
Our story begins in 2011: we met at K-State, where we were both studying engineering. We became best friends, and soon we began dating. In December 2014, we got married. While we wanted to start a family right away, life had other plans, and in the summer of 2016, Erin had to undergo a round of chemotherapy to help combat her MS. As we could not have a child through normal means, we decided to grow our family through adoption. So after months of searching, hoping, and waiting, in November 2017, we adopted our baby girl, Gabriella.
It was the best day of our lives, so far, and the only thing that compares has been to continue to watch her grow. Our family is not complete yet, though! We have both always wanted a large family, and so we immediately began searching, praying, and saving for another child to love. At the end of April, we were matched with a birth mother from Tennessee. This July, we will be adopting a baby boy, and our wishes will come true again! And while we have been saving and saving, this is where we need your help.
The Cost
Right now, we are $7,000 short of our $35,000 need. This is because it is an out-of-state adoption. While we knew this was a possibility, we did not realize how much more it costs to adopt a baby from a different state, and we are running out of time to save the necessary funds. To adopt our new baby boy from Tennessee, not only do we need an adoption lawyer here, but we also need a lawyer there, which adds a considerable expense. With travel costs on top of this, we are coming up a little short. This is where you come in, if you are willing! We need your help to finish saving up for the extra cost to bring our baby boy home.
