Josh's mission to Guatemala
Dear friends and family, Today I write a letter to you that just a few years ago I would have never thought possible that I would be writing.
I have an exciting opportunity to travel to El Oasis Guatemala during the week of February 10th – 17th 2018, to support the long-term missionaries at Hope of Life, a Christian mission organization that is ministering to thousands of people.
The purpose of our trip is:
To bring love and support to the long-term Missionaries at Hope of Life and El Oasis in Guatemala.
Support local Guatemalan Churches and their pastors.
Support the families from my church (LifePoint) who serve at Safe Haven Village, which is a family style orphan care to Guatemalan children who have been rescued by Hope of Life.
When I realized that this mission trip was a key part in my walk with faith I said yes without a second thought. Just a few years ago I was suffering from a long fight with massive depression, I was lost and unhappy. I had disconnected from others and saw negativity all around me. Inside I felt empty.
Today I am depression free. Thriving in all areas of my life, blessed with the love and support of an amazing fiancée and family, and fully alive on the inside. Therefore, I never gave a second thought when presented with an opportunity to apply for this mission trip. I feel called to give back for all that has been given to and restored in me
I’m truly blessed and grateful for the ability to write this to you. Part of my responsibility for this mission is to share my journey with my friends and family and to ask that you consider supporting me both through prayer and financially as I answer God’s call to serve him in Guatemala.
The cost of this mission is $1,850. I ask that you prayerfully consider how you might be a part of my mission experience. Most importantly I ask that you pray for the effectiveness and the health of our team and for the lives (including my own) that will be touched by our service.
