Let's Help Josh B Get Through This

Our friend and brother Josh B was involved in a motorcycle accident Saturday, September 28th. Luckily his life was spared and he is expected to make a full recovery, but not before multiple operations and a lengthy rehabilitation process.

We all know Josh makes his living with his hands so this is a huge blow to him financially. On top of that, being a small business owner he couldn't afford to carry health insurance. After having to be helicoptered to a suitable hospital prepared to deal with his serious injuries and a long hospital stay, his mounting medical bills are sure to be enormous.

You know Josh as a big-hearted person who cares deeply about his friends, the kind of person you can always count on. Now he needs us. Let's show him how we help one of our own when they're facing a huge challenge like this.

From Lashonda, the compassionate person who was the first person on the scene: "It was a beautiful Saturday. Windows open to let the warm breeze in when we heard a most haunting cry filled with pain. Sadly, it was coming from a man in a ditch stuck beneath his motorcycle. It did not take a medical degree to see he was in trouble . The most obvious of his injuries being the compound fracture of his wrist! All we could do was sit with him, hold his hand and wait for help. I have never met such a kind, and gentle soul in my life! He was concerned for me. He thanked ME repeatedly for coming outside. He was so polite and in all his pain in the midst of his trauma he was trying to not be a burden or inconvenience which he could not have possibly been of course. I mentioned my name only once when I first got to him and to my surprise he remembered it when the ambulance finally was able to make it fifteen minutes after they were called. I felt so very sad for this beautiful and kind man because I knew his pain had to be excruciating . But, never did my heart break more than when the ambulance told him he had to be medically evacuated to Albany and in that moment lying in a ditch, bone exposed, this day and age , and in this country, his faced flushed with anxiety and he quickly asked in desperation "can I please just have a friend drive me to a clinic sir? I have no insurance and I won't be able to pay for this!" It hit my stomach like a rock. Instantly my eyes welled up with tears. How unbelievably sad that someone , anyone, would have to worry about something like that at a time like this! So I ask, I beg please please contribute whatever you can for this selfless, kind, beautiful person. So he can focus on getting better not on the cost. He is going to need surgery on the compound fracture of his wrist , not to mention the cost of the helicopter and emergency response team. I will add more as I know more."
