A year and half ago our family felt a strong call to move to Charleston to help start Selah Church! We were excited to go, serve the city and passionately love the people. The experience of helping start a church has been a wild ride to say the least. Moving to a new city, with unfamiliar faces, and trying to figure out life was an exciting yet scary thing to go through. We have seen the Lord move immensely in people's lives yet we have also walked alongside deep heartache. We have seen people experience the Lord's love for the very first time. I remember early on we had a young woman come to our small group and boast about her atheism. She listened to the group discussion and would continue to proclaim that God isn't real. Little did she know God was moving in her heart and at the end of group she asked to pray. She confessed this was the first time she ever prayed but felt a calling to do so. As she prayed it was a clunky prayer, not refined like we are used to hearing, but the beauty of it was absoultely amazing. This young woman was talking to God for the first time in her entire life. This is one of countless stories we could share with you how the Lord is moving throughout our mission.

There has also been many struggles and hard times that we have had to endure. Over these past 18 months we have experienced everything from an unexpected death to someone dear to us, to actual physical ailments that would require multiple doctor visits. I have seen my husband carry as many as 3 separate jobs at a time, working upwards of 90 hours a week just to provide for his family to make ends meet.   The city of Charleston is an ever increasing costly city to live, but this is where God has called us. We have felt the body pains from the stress that we have had to endure and even at times, if we were to be honest, wrestled with our own trust in God's faithfulness. Though through all of this, God has never failed us, not even once.

On October 19, 2017 the Lord blessed us with an amazing little man, Uriah! He has been the most amazing, joyous light in this trying season. Following his birth has been the hardest month we have ever faced, which is why we are doing this go fund me. Due to the crazy weather, and freak snow storm Josh has been out of work and we are in desperate need of help in order to survive and continue on this mission.

Thank you for reading our story.  We humbly ask with heavy hearts if you could help us get through this in order to continue on. Would you prayerfully consider helping us financially? The money that we receive will go directly to rent, electric bills, grocery money and the necessities for Uriah.  As we try to move ahead with our call we ask if you could keep our family in your prayers. If you would like a monthly update on how we are doing please let me know and I will be happy to add you to our monthly update! Thank you again so much for following our family on this journey!
