Josh Rachal Heart Warrior Fund

As many of you know Josh Rachal has been very sick the last 7 days, it all started on Dec 19th he was admitted into the hospital for pneumonia, little did we know that that would change very rapidly. In the early morning hours on Monday December 21st Josh's health quickly deteriorated landing him in ICU at Rapides Regional with many unanswered questions and even less hope on what the near future held for him. Monday evening a balloon pump was placed to help off load his heart along with dialysis being started due to the acute multi organ failure he was experiencing. We found out Josh's mitral valve was no longer working and was putting him in heart failure, his EF (heart pump) was only 10-15%. Monday overnight Josh was placed on the ventilator to help rest his body. Fast forward to Wednesday evening at 7pm Josh was being prepped for open heart surgery to replace his mitral valve with little hope from the surgeons that he would even make it out of the operating room due to how critical he was. Well Josh with the help of thousands of people across the country praying had alternate plans and not only did he come out of the operating room but he completely took everyone by surprise on how amazing he did. Now we are 3 days post surgery and he has surpassed everyone's expectations dialysis is no longer needed, he has been taken off of all emergency meds, the balloon pump was removed with zero issues, and he was extubated this morning quicker than anyone would have imagined. We give all of The Glory to God and will be forever grateful for all of the prayers from everyone across the country. Although Josh is surpassing all expectations of any Physician or Medical Professional he has a very long hard road still ahead of him. We want him home with his wife and kids as soon as possible and want to help off load any extra stress on him during his recovery so we ask for prayers and any help you can give to this family so Kaitlin can focus on getting Josh strong and healthy. With three beautiful children, Christmas, and now a very large amount of unforeseen medical expenses and not knowing how long Josh will be out of work and him being the only income for the family at the moment any little bit helps. Once again on behalf of the entire family we are all so grateful and blessed to have so many wonderful people praying for him and it is a true miracle by God that he is with us here today. We love you all.
