Baby Joseph Arevalo

Donation protected
Joseph Isaiha Arevalo was born Feb 6, 2015 2:45 PM at Baylor Hospital Irving; he is the son of Jose (Jonathan) Arevalo and Victoria Ochoa.   This precious boy’s journey into the world started on Friday, Victoria went into the doctor for her normal checkup, she had noticed less than normal movement in her belly as she went in for an ultrasounds and the technician immediately rushed to get her Doctor. The doctor then informed her she was going to the hospital and the baby was going to be born today. Vicki suffered from something called Cholestasis, which causes a lot of uncomfortable itching for her this pregnancy, but for baby Joseph this caused the complications which started this journey. Jonathan was at this time working in Louisiana and rushed home to be with his family.  Joseph was born by cesarean section at Baylor Irving. The doctors rushed to get Joseph blood, and increasing his pulse and blood pressure, we learned he was bleeding out in Victoria which was essentially deadly for both mom and baby. While Victoria was getting stitched up she was administered seven shots to help her blood, and having lots of blood drawn, doctors and specialists were rushing to get Baby Joseph stabilized. He needed blood, blood pressure medicine, a breathing tube, and lots of fluids. At this time tests where done to see if there was any brain activity because he was without oxygen for an extended period of time. The tests showed that his left eye did respond to light. After stabilizing baby Joseph he was care-flighted to Baylor Dallas where he was put into Neonatal Intensive Care. Victoria was reunited with Joseph after being released from Baylor Irving. More in depth tests were done on Joseph to see if there was brain activity or signs of progress. On Sunday and EEG was done to see the brain activity.  The doctors came to Jonathan, Victoria and the family to let them know the results from the tests. There were no signs of brain activity and to prepare to say good bye. On Monday February 9, 2015 doctors told Victoria and Jonathan that the breathing tubes where going to be removed because there are no signs of progression or brain activity. The family gathered to be with the parents and Joseph to show how much he was loved. The doctors took Joseph off the monitors and took his tubes out at 5:40 PM and gave him to Jonathan and Victoria to hold. Jonathan and Vitoria together held baby Joseph and loved on him, every 10 minutes or so the nurse would come in and check on baby Joseph.  Around 6:30 PM Victoria noticed he was a little colder than he had been the nurses came in and said he had gone to be with God. He spent some more time with mom and dad before the nurses took him back gave him a bath took his pictures and prints and then brought him back in to rest in mom and dad’s arms a little longer. They are told they can stay as long as they need to hold him and love him.

So what we are asking for is to help this young family with funeral costs for our precious little boy. Anything will help. Feel free to contact anyone of the family for more information. Service information will be posted as soon as it is finalized.
