Lymphadema Surgery and Treatment

Dear Friends,
I will be having a new surgery called Vascular Lymphatic Transfer. This is very exciting, as it is a newer development in the world of medicine. The doctors will take Lymphnodes from other parts of my own body to transplant into my right leg. As a result of stage 4 - Malignant Melanoma, and multiple operations that followed, I have suffered with Lymphadema in my right leg for over 25 years. I Have have always taken care of the condition to the best of my ability with LIMITED medical advancement for any improvement...until now! I never thought there would be any hope of cure as it's a progressive condition.
I was recently approached my doctors' collegue, during a routine follow up while recovering from Ovarian cancer (July 2013). He had completed his residency in NYC with Dr. Joseph Dayan, who specializes in the field of "micro-surgery". While there are no guarantees, they feel confident that there can be some improvement. I have since traveled to meet this doctor for a consultation. I underwent two full days of testing to make sure i was eligible. After the results, it's determined I will receive 2 separate surgical procedures. The first surgery will be Monday October 7, 2013.
I am trying to raise money for all of the out-of-pocket expenses, not covered by insurance. I am unable to work during this 4 week period of time. I have faith in life that good things prevail and this will help me! THANK YOU TO EVERYONE...for all the support....financially, spiritually and emotionally! I am truly blessed. With all my heart!
