Joseph Merana Family Fund

My name is Mathias Haskell, and I Manage the SYNNEX Helpdesk from our Greenville, SC Office.  Joseph Merana was one of my employees in our Manila, Philippines Concentrix Office, and he lost his life in a tragic motorcycle accident on the morning of March 14.

What began as a simple working relationship of being his manager, quickly developed to a mutual respect and friendship.  Most mornings I arrived to the office to have Joseph greet me on Skype with something like "Good Morning, Boss - check this out!" or "I just learned something interesting..."
Joseph was always pushing himself to learn more about our business, how to strengthen our team, to add value to the organization by broadening our horizons.  His attitude was always inspiring, and I admired his vigor.
I always look forward to my quarterly visits to Manila, and Joseph was one person in particular that made me feel welcome and sacrificed his personal time and sleep to hang out with me or take part in excursions.  He loved going out to see bands, share meals with people, and his unique sense of humor was just hilarious - you couldn't help but be somehow affected by him in a positive way.
Joseph was also a loving husband and father to a 6-year old son.  I set up this fund to provide an opportunity for those who would like to help Joseph's family deal with the immediate expenses as a result of this tragedy.  Money won't fix their loss.  It won't replace any void left by Joseph's passing.
What it can do, is ease the immediate financial burden so Joseph's family can focus on grieving, and supporting each other emotionally.
It also gives us a way to show love to someone we knew well, or maybe not at all, by letting generosity flow through us.  Not as a showcase, but rather a simple act of love that nobody may ever know about.

I will be heading to Manila on April 23, and will present Joseph's parents with the funds raised here in person, since a funds transfer to Manila is not an sound option.  The funds will be used to pay for Joseph's funeral, and to help provide treatment and special education for his son JZ who suffers from autism. I will keep this fund open until April 12 to allow time for transfers to take place.

Thank you on behalf of the Merana Family for your support.
