Josefina’s lung cancer battle

Josefina Nava is 56 years old and is a mother of 4 kids and a grandmother of 5 grandkids. She is a beautiful woman who is loved by everybody around her. She has a huge heart that has helped so many people throughout her life. It breaks my heart to say that last month my mother was diagnosed with lung cancer. My mother has never smoked in her life and always made her health a priority, so as you can assume, this was shocking news to our family. My mother has worked extremely hard throughout her life to support my brothers and I and now it’s our turn to do the same for her. Through this pandemic my father got laid off from his job of 20 years,  because of this our family lost all of our insurance which unfortunately means that our mom is no longer covered for medical expenses. Before my mother was diagnosed with cancer my family was looking for any health insurance we could find but sadly we had no luck. We have applied for every financial assistance program we could find and sadly we have not been approved for any. Everything we have paid for has been out of pocket and she hasn’t even started her treatment yet. My family and I are doing everything we can to help my mother because we all agree that no amount of money is worth losing time that we may have with our mother. But as you can expect, the medical bills are extremely expensive and this is why I am making this post today. My family and I are asking if anyone would be so helpful to donate whatever you possibly can to help pay for my mother’s medical procedures and bills. Even if you can’t help financially, our family would greatly appreciate your prayers! My mother is a big believer in faith so your prayers would mean so much to our family. Anything will help. I understand this pandemic has been extremely difficult on everybody but one thing it has taught me is to always help others in a time of need.
