Jose was our beloved son, brother, uncle, friend and hero. His inner-heart radiated passion, courage, and unwavering positivity. We have all been influenced big his book, art, poetry, and philosophy. His spirit will resonate in our hearts forever. This past Sunday Feb 18, 2018 passed away a young king who did nothing but try to bring light in this world through his love for poetry. If you knew my brother Jose you would know he did everything he could to make other people smile. Jose never told people he had a serious disease. He never wanted to be treated difference. He just wanted to change the world through his poetry and humanitarianism. Despite having a serious liver, Jose graduated university with Political Science degree. Started an organization to help other young black men develop themselves. Jose wrote and published his own poetry book at 24 years old. He was supposed to go on a book tour soon to share his beautiful African poetry with the world. But, this past Sunday night that same disease took my brother at only 26 years old. He fought hard for 11 years with this disease. But, All we can do at this point is pray and keep his legacy alive.
