Hey everyone.
My Step-Dad Jose has been in my life since I was 5 years old. He changed our lives more than he will ever realize. He brought joy and laughter back into our lives and uplifted my Mom when she needed it most. He is an angel in my eyes that was sent to my Mom and I at the most perfect time, and the love, laughter and joy has only skyrocketed since then. Calling him a Step-Dad all of these years just has never seemed like enough.
The love that Jose and my Mom share is like no other. The term soulmates doesn't quite do it justice. Their love and care for each other over the years has set the prime example of what everyone should strive for. They love each other without judgement, care for each other without bounds. They are the epitome of true love at it's most true form.
Since their house fire, Jose has experienced trouble breathing more than ever. He is dependent on oxygen now and due to this it makes ordinary tasks very taxing and limits him in a multitude of ways. In all honesty, his health recently has been worrisome and he can't seem to catch a break. After recent short stints of hospitalization, I want to help lift their spirits and get them to continue their tradition of getting out and adventuring to make new memories. Even if it is just as simple as getting out to the park to be together.
This brings me to the reason for this GoFundMe. They are the selfless giving type and don't ask for help. If you know them personally you have probably experienced this firsthand. My Mom had mentioned at one point that she wanted to get him a mobility scooter so they could go out again. So Jose could have more freedom with adventuring out and feeling comfortable and safe. I have been researching ones and I found the perfect one that is portable and my Mom would be able to assemble and disassemble easily.
This has been an extremely trying year for all, so I understand if you're unable to donate. Anything helps. If you could share this, it would mean the absolute world to me.
Lastly, my Mom doesn't know that I have started this, so please keep the secret.
