Cidadão engajado no desenvolvimento das nossas Ilhas, quer através da sua pena, quer por intervenções outras, sempre preocupado com a cultura deste povo, com o equilíbrio ecológico, com a agricultura e com as pessoas, especialmente aquelas com menos recursos.
Nascido em São Nicolau, trabalhou no Banco, na Guiné e depois escolheu o Sal como a sua terra de futuro, onde veio a formar família, contudo sempre com São Nicolau no coração e na mente, visitando-a muitas vezes. Por onde andou granjeou amigos e deixou sua marca de homem alegre, responsável, trabalhador e solidário.
Foi Meteorologista, professor por vários anos num curso nocturno que o mesmo organizou. Escrevia artigos para os jornais, ajudou na feitura de algumas revistas e colaborou na criação da Retransmissora do Sal.
Após a reforma, a saúde traiu o nosso amigo fazendo-o viajar inúmeras vezes para os Estados Unidos da América e Portugal onde lutou por vários anos buscando possibilidades de recuperar a sua saúde. Lutador nato, acabou por perder a batalha da vida no passado dia 15 de Setembro em Portugal.
Dia 15 de Setembro, dia de Nossa Senhora das Dores, o Sal, com muita dor e tristeza recebeu a dolorosa notícia da morte desse filho que tanto amou as entranhas salgadas do chão querido da ilha.
Assim, como uma derradeira homenagem, juntamos para conseguir um montante no valor de cerca de 8.000 dólares para ajudar a família do extinto na transladação do corpo de Vinícula no percurso Lisboa/Sal, onde será dado à terra, a terra que tanto amou

THE FOLLOWING TRIBUTE
Citizen engaged in the development of our Islands, either through his pen or other interventions, always concerned with the culture of this people, with the ecological balance, with agriculture and with people, especially those with less resources.
Born in São Nicolau, he worked at the Bank in Guinea and later chose Sal as his land of the future, where he came to form a family, however always with São Nicolau in his heart and mind, visiting her often. Wherever he went he made friends and left his mark as a cheerful, responsible, hardworking and supportive man.
He was a meteorologist, professor for several years in an evening course that he organized. He wrote articles for newspapers, helped create some magazines and collaborated in the creation of Retransmissora do Sal.
After retirement, health betrayed our friend by making him travel numerous times to the United States of America and Portugal where he struggled for several years looking for possibilities to recover his health. Born a fighter, he ended up losing the battle of life last September 15th in Portugal.
On the 15th of September, the day of Our Lady of Sorrows, Sal, with great pain and sadness, received the painful news of the death of this son who so loved the salty entrails of the dear ground of the island.
So, as a final tribute, we gathered to get an amount of about $ 8,000 to help the extinct family in the transfer of the Vinicula body on the Lisbon / Sal route, where the land, the land they loved so much, will be given.
