Gartman Fam Hurricane Relief Fund

The Gartman Family are one of the many families that have been recently affected by Hurricane Harvey.  Michael Gartman and Patricia Ann Gartman have been married for 19 years.  They have a total of three (children) together, two of whom happen to reside in the very same house.  

The Gartman Family have suffered tremendous hardships througout their lives.  Patricia Gartman (Patty, my sister) and her youngest son Reese Gartman (my nephew), 17 years of age, both suffer from a rare genetic disease Von Hippel-Lindau (VHL).  VHL causes reoccuring tumors inside the body and could lead to cancer.  Currently there is no cure for VHL.  Patty has lost vision in one eye, has had back and brain surgery to remove tumors due to VHL.  Recently Reese has been diagnosed with the same disease.  Medical expenses for this diagnosis are at contastant.

Due to hurricane harvey, The Gartman Family lost all their belongings.  They have no furniture. No appliances. Precious memories that they built have been flooded. Their house has been destroyed due to the floods and they have been reduced to staying inside a studio apartment above their garage.  Ironically the same studio apartment they used to shelter and house Hurricane Katrina victims.  Due to this tragic event they are forced to ignore their medical appointments used to treat VHL because of their financial situation.

Our goal is to provide them with enough relief and help rebuild thier house with the essentials they need to survive on a daily basis. If we are able to help with this, ultimately we will be able to help with medical expenses that they need.

The Gartman Family were gracious enough to extend their home to others in time of need.  Lets help save this home so it continue to help others in the future.  Any help would be greatly appreciated in their time of need. We thank you for your continued support and pray for the city of Houston.
