Jose Could Wheely Use Your Help!

This is my friend Jose. Jose has one of the biggest hearts out of anyone I’ve ever met. Over the last year he has taught me a lot about what it means to be kind and love people. For him kindness is an opportunity to show others how awesome Jesus is. He greets everyone he meets with the big smile and a warm heart.
A couple weeks ago I asked him what he wanted for Christmas. He told me that he didn’t need anything and that he had everything he wanted. After asking him a couple more times, he finally said that there was one thing that he wanted. He told me that his power wheelchair is broken and that insurance will not cover the repairs. Jose currently uses a normal wheelchair which can be difficult for him to maneuver in the snow and bad weather, as well as make it to class on time.
His power wheelchair needs a new motor, control box and customization to fit his specific needs, and these repairs will cost almost $2,000. If somehow more than the amount needed to repair Jose’s wheelchair is provided, then the remaining amount will be donated to The Columbus Dream Center. The Dream Center is the local outreach ministry of Rock City Church and is where our friendship began.
Jose is a true leader and difference maker, but without a motorized chair to ride around on, it makes it difficult for him to spread his contagious joy for life.
