We are raising money to help my nephew, Jordan Davis, live in a sober home for a minimum of 12 months. As well, the funds collected will help to pay for expenses that will allow Jordan to work and have a somewhat normal life while in recovery.
Jordan is a heroin addict, and has been for over 10 years. He has been in and out of sober homes during this time, however he has never stayed in one long enough for it to make a difference, always repeating the cycle.
My family has donated thousands of dollars over the years and still it has not been enough to keep Jordan in recovery for more than a couple of months. Jordan's recovery is not on us, but on him, however, the disease of addiction is a life long burden he will have to live with. It takes 12 to 18 months for the brain to return to a somewhat normal state. In order to give Jordan a chance at NORMAL, he must stay in a sober home, he must be drug tested constantly, and go through the 12 step program for no less than 12 months.
We are asking for your support to help us ensure that Jordan is provided access to the resources he needs to begin to recover and return to a normal state of mind. His mother has sacrificed her life to this endeavor but has never been able to fund a "full on" recovery.
Bottom line, this is Jordan's last hope, there are no guarantees that this will work, but the Alves Family is behind our Sister/Daughter to help Jordan recover to the extent he can. Jordan is committed, the family is committed, can we count on your support as well? Donations and/or moral support are greatly appreciated and humbly accepted for this journey.
We truly understand that not everyone can help at this time. As well, we don't want to ask you to fund something that you are not comfortable with. We only ask that if you are willing and able to help to do so by funding this effort.
