Help Jordan After His Stroke

Donation protected
Jordan was assaulted at school by another student on Valentine's Day this year causing a severe stroke (brain bleed). He was taken to the hospital by ambulance, life- flighted to Peoria. He was put on life support, had a brain shunt placed to learn the pressure on his brain and an arterial line placed.

He fought for his life for the first few days and my fighter made it. He was paralyzed completely on the right side of his body, suffered severe cognitive decline and severe aphasia (inability to speak correctly), and ultimately blindness in the right field of vision in both eyes.

After 4 weeks he had a very high risk brain surgery that by the grace of God he lived through. 2 weeks after surgery he was transferred by ambulance (because he couldn't sit up yet) to Shirley Ryan Ability Lab in Chicago for intense in-patient therapies; physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. He spent 4-7 hrs a day,  6 days a week doing therapy.

After 6 weeks he came home with a wheel chair and one arm crutch to get around the best he could. He has now been home for about 6 months and has been in all 3 therapies, 3 days a week outpatient. He is also doing homeschool to keep up the best he can with his advanced courses.

His cognition, ability to remember, come up with the correct words and more have been very challenging but are progressively improving. He is able to walk without any devices other than leg support with an AFO or air cast depending on what he's doing but still does not have great balance or correct leg movement. He doesn't have use of his right hand yet but he's working hard to get it. He is still completely blind in his right field of vision.

Jordan's life drastically changed because of this assault and resulting stroke. He will forever have a new normal. It is our goal to provide him with everything we can to make his recovery possible and we've done our best. The medical cost of this type of injury is unimaginable and will continue to accrue for years. The devices, therapies, services and products to help Jordan heal are extremely expensive and because of that, he has had to miss out on the opportunity to have many of them. It would help his healing process so much to have access to these things and so we are hoping to fundraise enough to help with the bills and to afford some of these pieces of equipment, devices, services and therapies.

If you feel led or compelled to join our fundraising team to help Jordan it would mean the world to us. If you can donate, share with family and friends and help to bring awareness to our cause, we will forever be grateful.
