Jordan Revell Covid-19 Financial Hardship Fund

Donation protected
Dear reader,

I'm politely and kindly asking for your donation of any amount to myself, to help me cover the cost of rent, food, and bills, as well as a one way plane ticket back to Australia in the event that my visa application to remain in the UK with my partner is rejected and I am forced to return home despite the immense difficulty of that task due to the strict incoming passenger caps put in place by the Australian government. I have a link at the bottom further outlining the struggles of even returning to Australia in these current times.

As this is a potential outcome, but not the only possible outcome, and my visa application has been submitted to Home Office, at great cost, with full documentation from myself and my partner, I cannot say for certain if or when I will need to raise these funds by, however I am still living without employment or any form of income currently, and I am fearful that my application will be rejected as being artists and having met and lived abroad together, we may not meet the 2 year cohabitation requirements for the visa despite being together for 3 years, due to not being on leases together until recently.

Covid-19 has decimated the arts and entertainment industries around the world and as a result I have been unemployed since March 2020, only regaining employment for a brief period in September, to then become unemployed again in October after the UK government enacted the 10pm curfew on restaurants, clubs and hospitality venues.

Being a foreigner in the UK I have been rejected for all forms of financial assistance put in place and extended to a large portion of the populace due to Covid-19.
I cannot claim Universal Credit due to the conditions of my visa.
I was rejected for the Self Employed Income Support Scheme as the conditions for eligibility state that a business must have been trading in the financial year 2018-2019 and I was not yet self employed in the UK in that time period as I only arrived in the UK in November 2018.
I have been rejected for New Style Jobseekers Allowance despite working as an employee in a cafe/restaurant in early 2019, and having National Insurance contributions deducted from my wage, before starting full-time self employment later that year.
I have also been rejected from the Australian version of the UK's SEISS scheme as I did not meet the eligibility requirements for that either.

The loss of my passion, work, routine and hard-earned savings combined with these rejections, lack of help and lack of caring have sent my self-esteem and mental health plummeting into suicidal ideation territory and without help I don't see a future for myself. With my suffering mental health and, fear of discrimination, being brought on by personal experience and the increase in LGBT related hate crimes in the UK over the past few years, I have found it impossible to find other work. These factors have also compromised my ability to generate opportunities for myself.

I had a good year of prosperity in the UK before Covid-19 hit, and the savings earned were to be put towards the ongoing costs of my medical transition and gender affirming surgeries. Something that seemed like a pipe dream until recently, but now feels like something I'll spend my life chasing, yet never achieve.
I don't see myself living a life like that, as my Gender Dysphoria effects my on a daily basis and is another factor contributing to my suffering in this time. But due to Covid-19 and the increasingly dire situation in the UK I don't see myself regaining steady employment anytime soon.

In the instance that I am required to leave the UK, due to a rejected visa application, my partner will not be allowed to come to Australia with me as he is not an Australian citizen, and we are not married so we have no grounds upon which to apply for exemption to allow him into the country with me. I do not wish to leave the UK despite that being a potential possibility however if I am forced to leave and be ripped away from the love of my life I will need help being able to afford the inflated cost of a plane ticket back to Australia at this current time.

Any amount you are able to donate, whether it be £1, £5, or more will help me survive the ongoing financial burdens of this pandemic, by assisting with rent, food and bills, and assist in my return home should I be forced to do so.
I need this to survive.

Thankyou Sincerely,

Jordan.
