Jordan & Marissa's Europe Fund

Hello, my name is Jordan. I am 15 years old and have applied most of my time to sports, band, and work. I am a sophomore at Lyons High School. I run track and cross country and I have received varsity letters in both during my freshman year. I intend on doing so the next 3 years. I am going into my fifth year of playing trumpet in concert band. I also gave jazz band a try and have come to enjoy it tremendously.

Hi everyone! My name is Marissa. I am 15 and a sophomore at Lyons High School. I jumped on the opportunity to join Student Council, orchestra, band, and cheerleading, all of which have been fantastic experiences that I have thoroughly enjoyed. I was awarded a varsity letter for cheerleading and an academic letter for my freshman year. I am hoping to letter in band and choir this upcoming year.

We are both working very hard on our high school transcript in order to stand out in the competitive world of applying for college scholarships. We do our best to maintain our grades as well as our athletic abilities.
We had the prestigious honor of being nominated by our band director Dr. Karen Gregg based on personal character, maturity, and musical accomplishment to join The Colorado Ambassadors of Music Europe Tour in June 2018. Every other year, Voyageurs International LTD takes high school students in band, choir and orchestra on an amazing trip to “7 wonderful countries in 16 wonderful days”. We will be performing concerts to sold out audiences in England, Germany, Austria and Switzerland (with additional visits to Italy and Liechtenstein).

This is a wonderful way for us to experience the culture of Europe. While on this trip we will see the following attractions:
London, England: Changing of the Guard, Tower of London and the Crown Jewels, Westminster Cathedral, Big Ben, Houses of Parliament, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Windsor Castle, River Thames and Eton, English Channel, and the White Cliffs of Dover.
Paris, France: The Arch of Triumph, Champs Elysees, Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, Louvre Museum, Montmartre, Basilica of Sacre Coeur, Luxembourg Gardens, and a boat ride on the River Seine.
Crans-Montana, Switzerland: the Alps, Lake Geneva, Montreux, Castle of Chillon, and a day trip to Zermatt to view the Matterhorn.
Vaduz, Liechtenstein: the Royal Castle
Innsbruck, Austria: Old Town, Little Golden Roof, Hofgarten and Cathedral, Triumphal Arch, and Wilten Basilica.
Venice, Italy: Brenner Pass, Grand Canal, Doge’s Palace, Bridge of Sighs, St. Mark’s Square, and the Rialto Bridge.
Rothenburg, Germany: concentration camp Dachau

In addition, we are pursuing the 3 college credits offered by this program. This trip will help us to stand out when applying for scholarships for college, and will also look outstanding on our transcripts. We are working extremely hard to earn the money to go on this amazing trip, but we can’t do it alone. All of the proceeds will go directly to paying for this trip.
