I've never used a site like this before, and always prayed that I wouldn't have to. Christmas eve morning my friend, and fellow shipmate was in a near fatal car accident. Simply put, the doctors have said that he shouldn't have survived. As I type this, he is undergoing his second surgery in 24 hours.
Currently, he is in ICU on a ventilator. He has broken his left shoulder, left wrist, shattered his hip and left knee. He has already undergone two emergency surgeries, and has many more to go. His wife Amanda, has been at his side nonstop since she heard the news. Despite her situation, she's reluctant to ask for help.
Her Facebook posts are heartbreaking and there are so many of us that just feel helpless. I am asking for your help because frankly, she's never needed it more. They have two children, and Jon is the sole provider for his family. They are in need of a vehicle, money to offset him being unable to work, and numerous medical bills that are sure to pile up. They also need to make adjustments to their home to accommodate his wheelchair when he is discharged.
He has SEVERAL months of pain and recovery ahead of him. PLEASE help this military veteran family in need. Thank you for any help you may be able to give!
