I am running the Great North West Half Marathon 2025 on the 16th of February! I will be running with my lovely friend Alice and raising money to have a memorial bench put in Meanwood Park for my cousin Jonny Whalley.

Jonny loved Leeds and spending time in Meanwood Park. We want to create a quiet and reflective place where Jonny’s friends and family can visit to remember Jonny. To sit, to think to read and maybe write - like Jonny would have.

This will be the first of several fundraising events to work towards covering the cost of the bench and celebrating Jonny’s life. In the future, we may fundraise for charities like SOBS that have supported Jonny’s family but on this occasion, we wanted to do something that is a representation of Jonny and what he loved.

This will be my first half marathon and will be a real challenge for me! I am training in the dark winter weather, so please support in anyway you can !
