As a part of a two-stage permanent move from the Midwest to Las Vegas for a brand new show opportunity, we were robbed of our entire life’s possessions on the first night after arriving. Please read on…
About a month ago, my wife Anna embarked on a journey across the country with our three kids and our dog Dudley, pulling a fully loaded trailer with our show van. I remained in Minnesota to finish renovations on our house, prior to selling it. They arrived in Las Vegas two days later and checked into a hotel shortly before midnight.
With little more than an overnight bag and the clothes on their backs, they went to the van early the next morning only to find it wasn’t there. Neither was the trailer. We were robbed of everything we owned in barely a heartbeat.
All of our belongings, clothing, valuables, unreplaceable pictures and documents, family jewelry, office and show equipment, our kids’ lifetime piggy banks, laptops, tablets, hard drives, hand sewn heirloom quilts, Anna’s professional and practice saxophones, antiques, a $3000 set of restaurant cookware, and our entire office were all in there. In short, we lost everything we owned, including $5000 in cash to temporarily set up our lives.
To make it even more difficult, the robbers used the information from our office and hacked into our bank accounts, temporarily freezing our assets, while our kids were in educational limbo for nearly a month with no papers, birth certificates or records.
This is not a sad story, however? It isn’t. We will recover. The kids are finally now in school. We will build a new life. We will build our new show that is going to tear up Las Vegas. This is the beginning of a GREAT story, but we need your help.
We never wanted this to go public, and were hoping to fix these problems ourselves, but we can’t. With your help, we will be able to more quickly recover and build something truly dynamic and special here in Las Vegas. We have two twists to encourage you to donate: the community will benefit, and so will you!
We are prepared to account for every penny we raise, and will be donating it back to the community when the show gets off the ground and we are secure. If we raise $10,000, we will donate $10,000 to causes like wounded veterans, homeless shelters, and music in schools. Although we haven’t settled in on specific charities yet, we will be doing so in the near future, and are fielding ideas. There is also a benefit for you.
For any donation over $75, you either get two comped tickets or two comped drinks at a future show. We want you to see what you were a part of…what you invested in!
For any donation over $100, you’ll get those tickets or drinks plus a signed copy of my “New Boundaries” CD and a signed and numbered copy of my new “Vegas or Bust” CD (when completed) filled with great songs specifically written for the new show.
For any donation over $200, you’ll get everything else plus an invitation for you and a guest to a private party by the pool hosted by yours truly with food and beverages on me. We’re gonna do this, and I want to bring you along!
