Jon Francey getting back to work

Jon Francey was in a dirt bike accident on July 16th. He was extremely blessed and Heavenly Father was watching over him. He was riding in mountanous terrain and swerved a branch that was in his path which caught his pantleg and knee brace shoving an 8 foot branch up into his thigh 10 inches!! His friends were so amazing and acted quickly. One friend Jon (who was a marine with medic training) went to get help after telling them some basics on keeping the situation under control. While the others kept Jon's spirit up and assisted in him in what was needed. Jake had a small exacto knife with him so he began cutting the branch off jon's leg so it was a manageable size. This took about an hour to cut this huge branch. Jon was so calm thru the whole process and was thinking clearly enough on getting himself out of the mountains with the tremendous help of his amazing friends. Ambulance and life flight could not reach him because of the mountainous terrain. Jon knew he needed to get down the mountain to get help so he decided to ride a dirt bike down. He had thoughts that he survived cancer and was going to get taken out of this life because of bleeding out from this "Christmas tree" impaling him??!! He is incredible! With his friends help and support they lifted him onto the dirt bike and tied his bad leg to the peg and he rode down for about 2 miles of single track hard terrain. He fell once on the dirtbike on his leg with the branch which drove the branch in even more. As he was riding the branch in his leg snagged another branch causing it to move abruptly again. By the time he got closer to the fire road in idaho city his friend was leading the ambulance to him. Finally 2 hrs after the accident happened he got to the volunteer medics. The ambulance ride was rough and bumpy and he started to be in pain at this point. Amazingly his pain wasn't intolerable this entire time. Ambulance drove him to life flight although he tried to refuse but with the help of the medics decided because of how serious it was and how close it could be to veins/arteries that it wasn't worth the risk to not be life flighted. The surgeon said there is so much debri and bark in there that they couldn't get it all. They left the wound open and have a wound vac in there. He has to stay ay hospital for 3-4 days. Then they'll do surgery again to clean it out and then sew up leaving a drain in there. I am so thankful for his friends and how badass he is staying calm and riding a dirtbike down to help while having a branch impaled in his leg. So many reasons why he's blessed. The surgeon said the branch missed all important veins/arteries but it split his muscle vertically. He said it missed a major artery by 1.5" and a major nerve by .5". His biggest fear after it happened was that he was going to bleed out up there and I can't believe what a close call that was. Thank you John Johnson for riding like a mad man thru the mountains to go get the medics and for leading them back to Jon. Thank you Jake Schumann for having an exacto knife so you were able to chip away at the branch. Thank you Christopher Luton, Shawn G and his son., Charlie, Seth, and Derek Thomas for all your help with keeping Jon safe, stabilizing the branch while it was being cut, keeping him comfortable and helping him on the mountain while he was riding the dirtbike down with his leg tied to the peg, for packing up the campsite and driving our truck & trailer back to our house. The list goes on. I hope I didn’t miss anyone. You guys are all angels!

Jon had a spill this weekend on his bike and had to be life lighted from Idaho City. I know he has spent countless hours away from his family to help all of us with graphics and anything else to help. Hope we all can get his customers and friends to pitch in to help out with bills.

Thanks for helping everyone.
