Hi there, my name is Kaitlyn eldest daughter to Jonell. My mother suffered from Huntington's Disease for majority of her adult years. Before this horrid disease took her shine away you could say she was the "IT" girl. Jonell always had her hair and nails done. I have very vivid memories of sitting in the back of her drop top Mustang, riding around singing our little hearts out. She had some type of comfortability about her energy that was quite contagious. Sadly, once the disease started to progress in 2016 I became her primary caregiver. I dropped out of high school to take care of her and my younger sister Kylie. I started working 40 hours a week just trying to make ends meet. Late 2020 my mother was taken into a caregiving facility because the apartment we lived in was deemed unsuitable to have her live in. The ladies at Serenity Home did a lovely job tending to my mom. Jonell received her benefits through Medicaid meaning there is no funeral cost benefits. She was not able to sign up for life insurance because of the fact she was placed on hospice. This loss was very sudden for all of us and we were not financially prepared to give my mom the homegoing she so rightfully deserves. Anything helps, Thank you in advance. Please help me give her one last hoorah!
