Jonathan’s Clubfoot Journey

Our little buddy Jonathan was born last September with a deformity called Clubfoot that affects both of his feet. Without proper and correct treatment, our boy won’t be able to walk at all. We were completely surprised by his condition, as it was not caught during pregnancy, but we immediately began researching the proper care available for him and started his treatment at 5 weeks old.
After 13 casts (on both legs), 3 tendon surgeries, and five long months of weekly doctors visits, it became obvious that his current treatment wasn’t working. Jonathan’s feet have developed complex symptoms and we now have no other alternative than to seek IMMEDIATE medical assistance from a specialist out of state.
In addition to these complications, since Jonathan’s birth, we have been fighting a very length and costly insurance battle and to this day our son is not covered by any form of insurance at all. Our family falls in that “gap” where we don’t qualify for assistance programs (even though our one income is barely enough to pay our bills each month) and we also cannot afford to pay out-of-pocket medical expenses. We will continue to pursue our appeals to the insurance company but until such time as they accept or deny Jonathan coverage, we are asking for your help.
What you can do:
1. Prayer. We believe that God is still the God of Miracles and that He can bring complete healing to our son whether in an instant or by the hand of a skilled physician.
2. Donate. Any amount at anytime will help us cover Jonathan’s hefty medical expenses and transportation costs.
3. Share. We ask that you share this fund with as many friends and family as you can until our goal is reached.
We still don’t know the extent of this financial challenge as clubfoot is a condition that requires ongoing treatment and maintenance. Most estimates we have found reach well into the five figure range and since we are paying out-of-pocket we could use as much help as you are able to give.
It is very difficult and humbling to share the details of Jonathan’s journey and to ask for help but it is clear that we have no other options at this point.
