Ich bin Jonas Taege aus Kirchtimke (800-Einwohner-Dorf in Niedersachsen) und ich sammle Spenden seit 2016 durch Marathonläufe & Triathlon, damit Flüchtlingskinder aus dem syrischen Bürgerkrieg in Grundschulen im Libanon gehen können. Unten seht ihr einen Klassenraum, den wir seit 2016 ermöglicht haben. Wir haben schon Einiges bewegt, aber der Bedarf ist immer noch riesig.

MY PERSONAL CONNECTION: 
I am raising donations since 2016 for the NGO Jusoor, after I talked with a friend who was in the leadership team of Jusoor. I have personally realized the power of education to follow my dreams. Growing up in a village of 800 people, I never imagined where my educational and professional journey will take me. I have learned and kept moving forward step by step.
I have run marathon and triathlons to raise awareness about this critical cause: the Dublin Marathon in 2016, the IRONMAN 70.3 in Barcelona in May 2017, the Berlin Marathon in September 2017 and the IRONMAN Hamburg in July 2018. I am taking the personal challenge of running but I am aware that bigger challenges are out there. So let us face one of the biggest challenges of our time: the refugee crisis and particularly its harm for children.

DISASTER FOR REFUGEE KIDS:
Syria is a war zone. Half of the Syrian population - women and men, mothers and fathers and kids - have been forced to flee their homes. Over 300’000 Syrian kids (three hundred thousand!) cannot go to schools while being away from home for months or years. Syrian kids are at risk of losing their future!

WHERE THE FUNDS ARE GOING:
All funds raised in this campaign go to the Refugee Education Program of Jusoor  to enable refugee children from Syria to go to school in Lebanon. Primary school education is one critical step to build better futures for Syrian children and their communities.
Jusoor has been working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon since June 2013. Jusoor’s refugee education program in Lebanon seeks to ensure Syrian refugees in Lebanon have a holistic, well rounded primary school education through integration into formal schooling whenever possible, introducing contextual and relevant curricula and teaching methods to deliver informal education, and providing a strong psycho-social support within the framework of community engagement and rehabilitation.
